Perfume house Coty defends Beyonce Heat TV spot
Fragrance house Coty is speaking out about the recent U.K. ban on the TV commercial for Beyonce's Heat perfume. The U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority banned the ad from its daytime TV slots, claiming it is too sexually explicit.
According to AceShowbiz.com, Coty is defending the Beyonce Heat ad, which features the pop star scantilly clad and touching herself, saying there is nothing too explicit about the ad, and it is "intended to reflect the singer Beyonce's personal style and is not overtly graphic or explicitly sexual and at no point was Beyonce naked."
The company continued, "It was aimed at a vast selection of music programs to target a young adult audience. It would therefore be consistent with the expectations of viewers of those sorts of programs."
Still, the ad will not be aired on U.K. televisions until after family viewing time, or 7:30 p.m.
