It appears the perfume elves at Bond No. 9 are churning out fragrances at an alarming rate; however, one of the more desirable offerings is this collaboration between Bond No. 9 and the Andy Warhol Foundation: Silver Factory.
Named after Warhol's famed art studio that held groundbreaking parties and whose interiors were decorated with foil and silver paint, Silver Factory the perfume follows trend with a tip of the hat to pop art and shining metallics.
This perfume has an instantly appealing opening of grapefruit and bergamot over a heart of whispering incense. It meanders its way to the surface and - when combined with the citrus notes - evokes a feeling of sharp, glinting metal.
There is a hushed undertone of violet, lavender and iris that compliments the incense and brings a powderiness to the mix. Amber and woods comprise the base of the perfume, and leave a lingering trail. Silver Factory has moderate sillage and rather impressive persistence.
The flacon is adorned with a printed parody of Warhol's renowned "Campbell's Soup Can" silk-screens, but the overall effect is visually dynamic and very à la mode! Quirky and avante garde it is, and the captivating dry down can almost be likened to a religious experience. Two thumbs up.
